In addition to Sharon's idea, you might want to make quicklaunch buttons that
point to those folders so you'll have one click access to your most frequently
used programs. That way, the folders wouldn't have to be on the desktop, but on
the hard drive somewhere, and you can keep your desktop looking clean.
