Changing READ-ONLY file attribute

I cannot change the read-only file attribute?? I have
followed the Microsoft guide to using the attribute
command in the command prompt however it says "parameter
format not correct -" can someone help??

Are you trying it from windows or the command line. What are you typing
exactly.
