Hi, I want to run the Outlook 2003 and Outlook Express (Newsgroup) on the
F: drive (local) and not the C: drive. This is in case I need to re-install
WinXP. I also which to remove c: drive *.pst referernce from outlook.

I have WinXP Pro, Office 2003 Pro.

Thanks
John

You can install the programs Outlook and Outlook Express on to the F:
drive. You can put the *.pst file onto the F: drive (local) and open it
from there (Menu: File/Open).

However, unless you are doing something very unusual, the odds of you
having to re-install Windows XP are next to nil and even if you do have
to "repair" or "reinstall" there are ways to do it so that you won't
lose the programs or data.

Therefore, I'm not at all sure I understand why you are going to this
trouble.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

I think you are mixing things up here; the installation loaction and the
data location.

When you install Office to F:\ a reinstall of Windows XP means also
reinstalling Office even when you install it on a different drive as there
still is something like a registry and shared components.

As for the data (pst) file. When you close Outlook move the file to F:\. Now
when you start Outlook you'll be prompted for the location of the pst-file
which in this case is F:\
