My son is emailing pics of my new grandbaby that I want
to email to Wolf for hard copy prints. Problem is they
are much larger than the monitor. How do I shrink them?
My son is using JPEG.

Thanks.

Reducing the size will reduce the quality. For
printing purposes I would suggest that you
upload them as is.

If you save the files to your hard drive and
then open them in Windows Picture and
Fax Viewer or in an image editing program
they will fit your screen.

If you still wish to resize...go to the following
link and download and install:

ImageResizer.exe
http://tinyurl.com/36n

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures. You can select one
image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.

Don't shrink them.
Your monitor display is 72 dpi.
To get a very good printed picture you need 300 dpi but you will get a good
picture at 200 dpi.
So, in essence, divide the size on your monitor by 4 (300 vs 72) or by 3
(200 vs 72) and this will tell you how big a good quality print you can get.
So e-mail the file to Wolf and order a 6 x 4 print.
The larger the file you have on the monitor, the better the quality will be.
If the 6 x 4 print looks very good, you can then order 10 x 8.
If you are dying to get a print of the new grandbaby, copy the file to a
CD-R. Take it to Costo, Sam, Ritz, Walgreen, Wal-Mart. They all print JPEG
from CDs and many in one hour.
