'Afternoon all,
I'm having some slight difficulties with Network Users
shutting off the Screensaver Password protection
function. They decide that they do not want to hit CTL-
ALT-DEL every five minutes and have gone into Display
Properties and unchecked the 'On Resume, Password
Protect' box, so that they are not bothered with
this "annoying" necessity. I, however, am MORE bothered
by the security threat this poses, and despite my
requests that this not be done, it still happens.
(Threats and disciplinary warnings don't work with this
group, it's a blue-collar shop that's relatively new to
computers and the best solution is for me to take away
any opportunities they have to change system settings and
lock them into the proper configurations).
I have a Win2k Server and the client machines are XP
Pro, and I'm just curious if there's a way to lock in my
five minute password requirement across the board, or
barring that, lock it on each individual machine. I
looked through system policies and didn't see my answer
there, but to be fair, I could certainly have missed it.
Any thoughts? Your help would be much appreciated and
I am a graphic Artist/Web developer who would be more
than happy to provide any help I can in my area of
proficiency, in return for yours here.
Thanks in advance,
~Art.
