A basic test can be run from here http://www.pcpitstop.com/xpready/ A more comprehensive test can be run with the Windows XP Upgrade Adviser which is on every Windows XP CD and can be run independent from installing XP or it can be downloaded (large download) from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/upgrading/advisor.asp If you plan to upgrade - install overtop - you should be advised that Windows XP is not designed to upgrade Windows 95 but will upgrade Windows Me.
