I do not know what happened, but when I restart I get a
message of a boot failure with the press any key, which
always gets you nowhere, so I ctl alt del, turn off the
computer, put my recovery disk in, and finally it gives
me a choce. I chose scsi, and i get a choce of format
and recover, or quit. I choose quit and the system boots.
I thik this stupid hewlet packard does not change the
boot back to the C: drive, but keeps it on the scsi.
how do I get it back.

Your system is telling you there is a problem with your
disk. It cannot find the boot sector. You can try to start
up with your recover disk and exit to a command prompt.
Then type the following fdisk /mbr you will then return to
a command prompt, remove your recover disk and reboot.
Hopefully this will get you up and running. If your
recover disk doesnt have the fdisk utility you will have
to get yourself a boot disk with that feature.
