I teach high school JROTC. Two years ago I have each member of my drill
team a CD with all of their competitions on it. I used Studio 7. The MPEG
files are each under 2MG. This year I decided to use MS Movie Maker. To my
shock, I found the files ranged from 250MG to 700MG. Unfortunately I no
longer have the original tapes.

Is there a way to change the WMVs to MPEGs or at least make them reasonably
sized? I tried importing the 250MG file into MM and telling it to make a
movie to fit in 150MG as a test. But it wanted 185 minutes. Hate to see
how the 700MG file would do.

Thanks in advance,

Terry

First there are many conversion tools available to convert from WMV to MPG.
You can google or check out this site:
http://www.videohelp.com/convert

2nd that 185 minutes it asks for usually doesn't truly end up being 185
minutes.
If you let it go for a while you will see what I mean, those minutes drop
off in seconds and you'll likely end up waiting closer to 25 minutes than
185 (just a guess as far as the true times).

Boy, I just re-read what I wrote. I guess I shouldn't try communicating
when I'm sick with a fever. But I think you can tell what I tried to say.

Well I took MWV to mean WMV and I didn't take MG to mean Milligrams but
actually MB Megabyte

Which means my answer still stands. :-)
