I have a intellimouse explorer 3.0 and I want to change one
of the buttons on the side to ANY number or letter or any
other key. The microsoft drivers for the mouse only let me
change it to copy or paste, or things like that. The old
windows 98 driver would let me do this. So I pressed the
unistall button on the driver then rebooted as it told me I
have to do. Then when it finished it says I still have the
driver. I can't just install the old driver because it says
there is a newer one already on my computer. How do I get
the old driver to work or otherwise change what the buttons
on my mouse do?

No way, you need to use the new drivers

It isa also thet version 5 of the Intellipoint drivers have had
"features"/"function" removed from the configuration options. I do knoiw
that Intellipoint version 4.12 works in XP (altough MS no longer states that
it does).
