ive bought a new motherboard and a new processor for my computer and i want to know if it is possible to use my old hard drive with the new mother board since it is a completely different motherboard

also what is the best graphics card i can get for £150

You should be able to as most motherboards have connection for both IDE and SATA HD's - but one thing you will not be able to do is use the old installed OS, you will need to re-install it.

If you let us know what HD and new motherboard we can confirm it for you.

I'll leave it to the gamers here to give a recommendation for a GPU around £150.

RE the graphics card, if you can strech to it get an 8800GT 512mb, they are cracking cards for the money, not far off the performance of the £300+ GTX. :thumb:

also the mother board ive bought is a ASUS P5N32-E SLi NVIDIA nForce 680i
and the hard drive i have in my computer is a seagate barracuda 200gb so can i use this hard drive with that motherboard

Yes, the motherboard has 1 x IDE connector and 6 x SATA so it can use either.

Just be aware though, if you want to connect 2 x IDE DVD/CD players and an IDE HD you will need another IDE slot.

You can install the DVD writer and HD on the same IDE connector using a master/slave IDE ribbon - make sure you have the HD set as master and the DVD as slave.

Yes you will need to re-install the OS - see my first reply ;)
