Recently my motherboard failed and I was forced to get a
new one. I transferred the new board in and hooked up
several components to get it started. After booting, it
doesn't recognize any ide devices, and also asks for a
boot disk. I would like to keep all the data on the hard
drive and use it as the main drive, I don't have any
spares. Is there a way to setup this new motherboard
without reinstalling anything?

Thanks for the help

If your bios (startup screen) doesn't recognize your hard drive then
perhaps you don't have it installed properly - check cables - jumpers
- etc.

IF your new Mobo is the same make and model it is possible to transfer
the system. If not then you are much better of with a clean install.

To get the data off of it , slave the drive to someone else's computer
and copy any files you don't want to loose.
