Attempting to change motherboard. After BIOS startup I
get a Windows sceen prompt that windows failed to start
properly and asking if I want to start in safe mode or
normal mode. Any selection causes the computer to shut
off and repeat the cycle. Hard drive works fine with old
motherboard after re-installing. Anyone have any ideas?

same thing happened to me when i changed my mobo.

most people will recommend a new clean install of XP,
but all i did was a "repair" install and it worked fine.

set your BIOS to boot your CD Rom first, then boot
with your XP CD, let the install go through the motions
until you get the repair install option.

basically all it does, it replaces your old mobo
drivers with new ones for your new mobo.
