I have a HP 6100 multifunction printer/ fax/ copier/ scanner and I
need to change my margin defaults. I have tried changing them on the
computer and can't and was told it is because I need to change them on
the printer. How do I do this?

Nothing in the instructions about how to do it?

There is absolutely nothing in the manual about adjusting print margins.
The only references to margins is for the copier functions.

For any given printer, there is an outside limit to the margins, also known
as the "printable area". You can't make them wider than the mechanics of the
printer allow. Any other changes are done through your software (Word,
Excel, other software). What are you trying to achieve, exactly?

What do you do when you try to change them "on the
computer"?

Usually (always?) that is done in the Printer Properites.
Do you see this item there? If not I would wonder if your
driver is installed correctly.

Who told you to change them on the printer? Why don't you
ask the person who told you this?
