Changing location of two programs in Start Up

My two most-oft used programs are Eudora Light and Forte Agent.
When I set up this computer in November 2004, running XP-Home SP2, I
mistakenly put both program in Documents & Settings|All Users|Start
Menu|Programs|Startup|Agent|Data. The same is true for Eudora Light.
I don't want them there!

Several weeks ago, using only the "DELete" key, I deleted Agent
from that location and was horrified when I could no longer access the
program, nor did it even appear on my system. Thank goodness for the
System Restore command. ;)

One of the aggravations for having these two programs in their
current location is that when I turn on the computer, I am confronted
with two different windows, one referencing the Agent and the other
referencing Eudora Light's presence in the path file listed in my first
paragraph. I have to close these two windows before proceeding.

I'd like to have Agent & Eudora Light both in my C:\Programs
folder, which brings up the following questions:

1. In Windows Explorer, can I just drag & drop the two
programs from their current location to C:\Programs?

2. If I do drag & drop as stated in #1, will that eliminate
those two windows appearing when I start the computer in the morning?
(If it matters, neither program automagically loads when I boot up in
the morning. I still need to click their icon in my Quick Start bar,
which is exactly the way I like to start them.)

1. Most unlikely. Presumably these are integtated with the system. Their current location is recorded and Windows won't be able to find them (eg trying to open a saved email on the desktop). Depending on how the two programs were written they may still work as unintegrated apps.

2. Probably.

Uninstall and reinstall. Have nothing in startup you don't want to startup.

Thanks for the reply. Upon reading your response to #1, I
remembered that Agent does not write anything to the registry, so I
screwed up my courage and merely dragged all the files in startup to a
new folder I made in the programs listing. I then deleted the empty
folder in startup, restarted the computer, and Agent performed, as
always, flawlessly. Usenet life is good. <G>

I then did the same thing with Eudora Light's entry in the
startup folder, rebooted, and Eudora performs as expected.

Now, when I turn on my computer, I am no longer confronted by
those useless windows, and I didn't even have to use a system restore
to repair any damage I might have created with all this moving &
deletin'. ;)

Thanks again for your time. If not for your advice, I'd be
sittin' here terrified to go messing with any settings.
