Is there a way to change the default location for saving attachments using
Outlook Express 6?
Outlook Express 6?
Kelly said:Hi Steve,
Common issue as of 330994 and/or 331923.
Here is the workaround: You will have to apply it manually until I get a
chance to script it. Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Microsoft\
Outlook Express\5.0\Save Attachment Path. For the save attachment path use
as an example: F:\My Downloads\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
For each slash added is for how many times your last saving folder will
remain in tact. What is happening is that the last letter is being chopped
off when used, thus resulting in it saving to default My Documents......
Tip: This can also be done using File/Save Attachments....
For anyone wanting to test this theory, this only works if you are using the
Preview Pane (View/Layout). Without Preview Pane selected the
SaveAttachementPath will not be listed in the registry.
