Windows Media Player has been acting oddly in sorting MP3
files into folders by artist and album information. I'm
told that the problem is that my folders have exceeded the
Windows default of 400, and that the fix is to alter the
registry to allow a greater number (and the to do a few
more things to reconform the WMP file structure). I've
heard that I have to edit the "MRUBag Size" lines in the
registry, but have no idea how to do that. I'm a novice
at registry editing, and would appreciate any advice.

Hi,

Windows remembers 400 folder settings. When that number is reached some
settings aren't retained any longer. You can change this to 8000 by adding
this edit to the registry.

Run this edit, then reset your preferred folder options:

Increase Folder View Options Limit: (Line 2)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
