Changing language & appearance in Windows XP

Somebody told me that you can completely change the
languages in Windows so that even the Start Menu changes
appearance?
I have a localized version of Windows XP (in German) on a
laptop and I want to change the appearance completely to
English. How do I do that?
I read on the microsoft website that there is a new MUI
system which uses an English version of XP to change to
another language, but I am looking just for the exact
opposite. Hope one of you pro's out there can help me?
Would be greatly appreciated.

Get an English version of Windows XP and clean-install it. You cannot
change the language of an existing installation.
