We are currently using Office xp 2003. We use the calender under Public
Folders for security. However, we are trying to change to labels because of
new idents. We have been told this has to be done by our administrator and
he is unable to do so. Under the regular calendar it is not a problem. Can
someone please help us? Thanks

I am a little unsure of what you are trying to do. However, your Exchange
Administrator should be able to help you, he could use a tool called
PFDAVAdmin, available on the Microsoft site.

Are you trying to change the names of the folders or ?

I have this question too.
I set up an appointment in my own outlook calendar and invited other (human)
attendees to the appointment - no problem.
Now I want to invite a public (department) folder to the appointment so that
any changes I make to the appointment in my folder updates all attendees
including the public folder.
How do we do that?

Nikki, thank you for your answering of my question. It is a bit confusing -
basically, one can change the labels on the regular calendar which I have
done at home; however the computer at work has an additional calendar under
"Public Files" apparently setup when we first updated our system. The admin
at the time established this in order to keep contacts and calendar
information from having easy access to people who aren't authroized to get
it. Anyway, when we have tried to change the labels, they are gray. Our
current admin has not been able to do the changes either and I thought
someone "out there" might be able to help us out.

Public Folders are not like a mailbox, however they do have
an SMTP (email address). You can add the SMTP of the public
folder to your list of Invitees. This will email the meeting to the
public folder (PF). Therefore, if you send an update, I am not
sure whether the PF will just add it again as another meeting or
if it will update the original meeting. (I think it will add it, but you
will need to test this theory).

Labels, it has been a while since I worked with labels in public
folders, but you may need to have elevated rights to do that. Let
me look at work and I can get back to you this evening.

OMG! I completely forgot to check this today I was so
busy. I apologize. I have sent a message to myself at work
and will do so in the morning.

Thank you Nikki: Look forward to hearing from you.

Aha! You need to be granted FOLDER OWNER rights
to enable you to edit the Labels. This is not the same as
FULL OWNER.

Nikki, gosh thanks so much for all you help and the time you spent looking
for the answer. I apologize for not getting to you sooner. Things have been
crazy. I will turn this over to my boss for the Systems Admin. You are
really appreciated.
