Hi,

I have a win 2k pro. laptop that was set up to be part of
active directory domain. without knowing the implications
of my actions i changed its setting from a part of a
domain to a workgroup computer. Now it won't let me set it
back to be part of the domain. The message i get is,
'The following error occurred validating the
name "domain.com" This condition may be caused by DNS
lookup problem....'
I am not on that network right now, so i won't be able to
connect to the domain server. right now i have to log on
as an administrator and not as the user of the domain. Is
there a way i can go back to the original settings.

Not without the assistance of your Network Administrator. To join your
computer to the domain, you will have to be attached to the network and you
have to know a Domain Admin user name and password.
