i am editing clips from a live set my band had..and i cant post them on my
bands website because of the file type.. it needs to be changed to mp3 after
i edit the file.. does anyone know how i can do this so it will work?

it is in the windows movie maker format..thats what its formatted as after i
edit a song and try to post it on our site.. i just need to change it to mp3
format from that and i dont know how to go about doing that

You did not answer my question. What "type" (format) are your movies.
Well, I looked it up and found out that Movie Maker creates MSWMM formats.
You can't convert a MSWMM. It is a container file. You must open the MSWMM
file with Windows Movie Maker THEN save as A WMV file. Then you can convert
it to whatever format you like. Make sure you have the latest updates
-http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/moviemaker/downloads/moviemaker2.asp
Goto: File> Open Project> Locate the WSWMM> Open Drag the clip/s onto the
storyboard line File> Save movie file> My Computer> Enter movie name & folder
to save to Check 'Other settings'> Any option you chose from the drop box
will save as a WMV except for "DV-AVI (PAL)" it will save as AVI
You can use any one of the hundreds of free programs available to convert
the wmv to avi, mpg, asf, divx, dvd, or whatever format you want.
You can do a Google search to convert AVI or WMV to MP3

i dont see any "other settings" button anyhwere... i just wanted to edit the
clips from a live cd of my band into mp3 format after i edited them..thats it
