how do i take the linux op system off my pc and install windows xp

This may seem obvious, but is in fact the truth:

Use the Windows XP Installation CD!

(You can delete all existing partitions and start again during the
installation process).

Best way is to get the hard drive manafacturer's software tools from their
website. In that package, there should be an asset for writing zeroes to
the entire hard drive. Use the boot media version of those tools. Write
zeroes to the entire hard drive. This will wipe the master boot record
area, and glean any areas that are iffy by removing from usability by the
operating system. The procedure is simply to initiate the procedure, then
walk away. It takes hours.

When done, remove the said software from your CD/DVD or floppy diskette
drive. Insert your XP installation CD, and boot from that.

A modified version, new taxes in the future, is how Congress will get us
