Is it possible to use your own background/bmp for a form, rather than using the preset ones? I would like to choose my own texture as I don't like the ones provided, and am bored of plain colours!

Many thank

Jen, use the Picture property for the form to do this. Just click the build
button (...) and navigate to your picture file. Tweak the Picture Type, Size
Mode, Alignment, and Tiling properties to get the result you want.

Thanks DDM, but I really don't know how to do that! I've clicked on the build button and it asks me to choose a builder? I don't know what to choose, and have no idea what to do when I've chosen one!

Sorry if I sound a bit dim

Jen

Another suggestion is open up the form in design mode.

1. Write click on the form
2. Select Properties
3. Go to the Format Tab
4. Scroll down and you will see an option for picture
5. Click on the ... on the right
6. Find your picture and hit OK.

Jen, please forgive me for my earlier, hasty answer. Here, I hope, is a
better one:

1-Open your database file and go to the forms.
2-Right-click the form and select Design View.
3-When the form opens in design view, find the Properties button on the
toolbar and click it (or select Properties from the View menu).
4-When the properties box opens, click the Format tab (if necessary) and
scroll down to the Picture property.
5-Click the Picture property and you will see the build button (...) appear
to the right. Click it.
6-Navigate thru your folders to find your picture file (a .bmp file, for
example).
7-When you find your picture file, select it and click OK.

That returns you to your form. You should see your new background.
If the result is not satisfactory, you can try different settings for the
Picture Size Mode, Alignment, and Tiling properties. They all have drop down
lists that you can choose from, and you should see the result right away.
If you decide not to incorporate any picture at all, just blank out the
Picture property.
When you are finished, save and close the form.

Again, my apologies for my earlier answer. I hope this is clearer.
