How do you change the setting of passwords so that it doesn't require funky
letter combinations? I'm running XP Pro. I know it's more secure to use
awkward formatted passwords, but I really don't think the CIA will be hacking
into my home pc anytime soon. Hehe :)

Okilidokily...

Start > Run > type "gpedit.msc" without the quotes > hit enter

Dig down to:

Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Password
Policy > and disable the bit about needing to meet certain complexity
requirements. I'll answer your other question in just a second too.

No problem, more than happy to help. What is something that one of us might
know might be something that you don't know so stick around and maybe you'll
find that you're able to answer a question for someone else someday. <g> The
newsgroups are a great community for help and for helping. I've learned a
lot over the years, well, actually I've learned just about enough to know
that I still have a lot more left to learn.
