My problem. I change the font from font "a" to font "b",
and save the template, and save as "___". I restart, and
select the template with font "b", the problem, only the
initial slide will write in the changed font "b". All
subsequent slides write in font "a".

Question: I can I change the font on a template and it
remains throughout my presentation without me having to
change the font on each slide, one at a time?

To change a template, go to View > Master > Slide Master. Make your changes
and then go to File > Save as and select Design Template (*.POT). Remember,
this is all in the Master view.

To change the default font in the above step, select the Text tool, click in
an empty area on the slide master and go to Format > Font. Make your
preferred settings including size, color, etc. and check the box that says
"Default for new objects" and click OK.

When saving your template, you might want to save it where PowerPoint will
automatically find it and list it in the available templates. See
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/powerpoint_templates.htm
for determining where to save them.
