Changing folder icon in Enable Web Content option?

T

Tracey

I have been looking for the answer to this question for quite awhile
and I'm about to pull all my hair out.

Recently, I installed a 'theme' on my PC just to see what it looked
like. Didn't like it so I uninstalled the theme, however, I can't
seem to get rid of the little icon which is located on the top left
corner, when you open any folder.
For example, if you have the 'Enable Web Content' option checked, and
you open 'Program Files' via Windows Explorer, on the left side of the
page, directly opposite of the directories in that folder, it will say
'Program Files'...Select an item to view it's description....and See
also: My Documents, Network and My Computer. Well, under all this
writing is a picture. My picture happens to be an ice cream, now, and
I want the original picture back.

I've probably confused anyone who has read this, but it's the best way
I can explain it.

Now, my question is...How do change this??

Hopefully, someone will be able to answer this for me before I go
completely insane.

Thanks in advance!

It would be best to show a little image (gif) of this here so I know exactly what to tell you. All I can say is you want to:

Start | Run | regsvr32 webvw.dll | OK | OK.

Then look in C:\WINNT\Web for this image you mention. Is it in there?

The image you are seeing is coming from a hidden file in the folder location called desktop.ini. If you rename this file to desktop.in_ you will get your normal view. And remove the Read-Only attribute.
