If you delete a single occurrence of a recurring appointment, then later
change the end date of the series (for instance, when the series gets
extended -- a very common scenario), Outlook restores the deleted
appointment. This is very user hostile -- it is destroying my historical data
-- and it doesn't even warn me first or give me a choice!

Yes, this is so annoying. I've looked everywhere and has yet to find
solution. You would've thought with Outlook being around for so lon
that someone in Microsoftwould have realised the problem and came u
with a solution!? I have this problem as I use a pocket pc, when
was using a palm the solution was simple: whenever I wanted to delet
a recurring item with no end date, 3 options pops up i) delet
appointment, ii) delete future appointments (leaving pas
appointments unaffected), iii) delete all appointments. So simple
