Sorry if not in correct section. I am considering changing my IP from Orange to BT. I'm cool with this but the only concern is the implications in changing my Email Account. I'm happy to deal with having mail directed to a new address and informing contacts etc. but I'm unclear as to whether I will be able to transfer the various folders of old Emails which I have retained for future reference etc.

Not sure about the BT email system but Gmail certainly allows you to import all existing messages that are in your account. And, Orange is listed as one of the accounts that can be imported.

On the basis that they all have to keep up with each other then BT may well allow you to import. Give them a call.

I'm with BT, I forward all mail to my gmail account ... setup a Gmail account, then it wont matter what/where/who your ISP is. ;)

if you need an "invite" let us know, as I cannot seem to find a sign-up page in google without going to my own account.

Another alternative. When I wanted to save mails in OE and Windows Mail, this is what I did:

1. Click on desktop and create a New Folder.

2. Open e-mail folder containing mails you want to keep.

3. Click "Edit" then "Select All" to highlight all mails.

4. Drag your mouse from anywhere on the highlighted mails to the New Folder and wait a few moments as they all transfer.

5. Give your New Folder a name and save it to Documents or send to DVD, etc.
