Changing Dynamic Web Template

Two Questions. I have a website that has approx. 15,000 pages which
previously used shared borders. I changed from shared borders to a dynamic
web template. When I attemp to update all pages it take about 8 hours. It is
a matter of my machine? I have a computer with 256 RAM and a processor speed
of 2 GH. Also, If I want to attach a different dynamic web template for a
certain portion of pages, how do I do this?
 
You can't attach 2 DWT to the same page
