When I installed Windows XP, I had a single hard disk and
a CD ROM drive. Hard drive was the C drive and CD was the
D drive. I have since added a second hard disk and
windows labeled it the E drive. How can I make the second
hard drive be the D drive and the CD the E drive?

change the CDROm first to F:\ then the secong HD to D:\
then the CDROM back to E:\
do this all in Computer Mgmt in control panel. In Computer
Mgmt go to Disk Manager
hope this helps

Right click My Computer » click Manage » click Disk Management » right click on the drive in question » assign the CD "F" » assign the HDD "D" » change the CD to "E" » all done.
