I have a windows 2000 server network consisting of: 2000
file server, 2000 terminal server with citix metaframe
1.8, and exchange 2000 server. My company has changed
their name and wants to change the website address that is
hosted by dellhost from andersonbissellins.com to
aiasc.com. My network domain is setup under the
andersonbissellins.com. Is their a way that I can just
change the domain of my network to aiasc.com without
losing our existing forest. We mainly want to change our
email addresses to reflect the new domain name. We aren't
too concerned about the domain of our network. Or can I
manually change the mailboxes to the new domain and not
create any conflicts. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

Thanks,

Levi Crawford

Changing AD domain name in Windows 2000 is next to impossible, but in
Exchange 2000 you can easily add additional domain name to existing
mailboxes. Open Exchange System Manager and under Recipients open Recipient
Policy. Add a new SMTP address with your new domain name. Mart this server
as responsible for delivering mail to your domain and apply the policy. Your
users will get new email address. Of course you must make sure, that
external MX records of your internet domain point to your Exchange Server.

Hello
You have to do as Matjaz Ladava to change your e-mail adresses, but you can
also add an Alternative UPN suffix with the new name. interact

Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Active Directory
Domains and Trusts. "right click the root (Active Directory Domains and
Trusts) node" "Select" Propertis "You can add the new domainname in the box
,and then click" add

Short of upgrading your forest to Windows Server 2003 and getting it to
Forest Functionality Level 2003 - there is no supported way to change the
name of your domains.

Not if you have Exchange in your forest, then forget about domain rename :-)
