Have windows xp . I have a jpeg that was saved as a document and i need to
have it changed back to a jpeg in order to be able to use it in a image
program. I know in older windows you could do it with no problem , but with
xp I have not been able to do it.. I would greatly appreciate anybody who can

Hello,

Is this a document with the picture embedded in the document? With a
filename like picture.doc? If so, open the file in Word and go to File
=> Save as web page. Save to a convenient location, such as your
desktop. If you save it as say, picture.htm, the file will be saved
with an accompanying folder named picture_files. Open this folder and
the pictures should be inside in their original format.

p.s. I used Word 2000 - your word processor may vary, but try to save
as an .htm

what do you mean "saved as a document" ?? do you mean the jpeg is embedded
in word processing document, such as a Word document?

If so, this works for me. Highlight the jpeg on the document then do a copy.
Open your image program then paste it (as a new image).

On the chance that Claymore or Figaro's advice did not work, or wasn't
exactly what you wanted, there are two other things you can try:

1) If the .jpg was saved as a .doc file, try renaming it to a .jpg,
then see if it opens as a .jpg. Simple, and may work (though I have a
hunch you already tried this.

2) I know this will work sometimes on my computer - it may on yours:
open the .doc file, "Select All", then "Copy". Open a new .txt file on
your desktop, and "Paste" into the .txt file. Save it. Now rename the
..txt file (whatever you want).jpg. See if it will open.

So that gives you four suggestions to try altogether. Good luck with it.

It's a somewhat complex process, and you may lose some image quality
(especially if you want to print out the image), but here goes:

First adjust the scrollbars to display all the content you want to convert
If there is not enough space, you can hide some toolbars (you can restore
them afterwards).
Then, on the keyboard, press 'Print Screen' once (located on the right of
F12).
Afterwards, open any image editing software (Windows Paint, PhotoShop,
whatever you've got).
Paste as a new image, then a screenshot of the Word file should appear.
Cut the content you want to convert. Then you are done.

As an alternative, you can have a look at Joy Image Printer. Free for
evaluation purposes.
