Changing default language

We live in Spain and when our new computer was delivered recently,, the guys
who installed it chose Spanish as the default language. How on earth do we
change it?! Someone suggested uninstalling windows XP and reinstalling via
safe mode. When we tried to do this (we do not have the start up disk anyway
or is XP sometimes pre-installed?) Windows Xp does not appear as a program in
the install/uninstall list. Someone else has suggested that you can find a
programme on Microsoft.com that allows you to change the language...

Any suggestions! The problem is that we can´t even understand the help
instructions so you are our only hope!
 
Only the english version can change languages and only volume licensed customers can buy the language change packs.
 
Hi,

WindowsXP comes in several languages, yours was installed with a Spanish
version. You would need to start from scratch by formatting and use an
English language version for the installation. You can't convert it from the
existing installation. There is no download that will convert this for you.

You won't want to hear this - from what I have read, you'll have to buy a
whole new program of Windows XP in English. Not good news, is it? It's
not cheap. Maybe I am wrong, but a few posts have touched on this subject
and I think I am remembering correctly..

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS
to another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of
English WinXP to perform a clean installation.
