Hi All,

Does anybody know how to change the default Word (Office 2003) font using
group policy? The only font change I can find in the Office 2003 ADM's are
for OneNote.

Thanks in advance,

Chris Henderson

Dear Chris,

Thanks for posing here.

Based on my research, the default font setting is not configured in the
word options so that you cannot find it in the policies. In Microsoft Word,
the default format (including fonts, size, etc) is stored in the default
document template (.dot file). You may edit a document template and deploy
it to your workstations as the default template.

For more information, you may post the customize template request to the
office or word newsgroup.

I hope the above information helps.
If there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jorge Fei

When you open a new Word document this document is based on the normal.dot
template. This is usually stored in each user's profile because they can
make changes to normal.dot (such as font, autotext etc). Group Policy can't
set the font here. You need to replace the existing normal.dot with a new
one - you can do this via logon script. I would suggest you rename the old
version rather than overwriting it.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the update.
It's my pleasure to be of assistance.
