I would like to change the default drive that new
programs are installed onto. (When the disk is inserted
into the cd rom drive, and auto installation begins)

This would allow my children to install new programs
without my assistance.

Thank You, Mike

P.S. First time I have ever posted a messgae, hope there
is enough info.

You would have to use the advanced or custom install options in the
software to install to another drive other than the system drive.
Modifying the default install folder will break the original programs
in the program files directory that were installed with windows.

Use at your own risk!!

Do start/run/ type "regedit"

Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

On the right side, find the string called ProgramFilesDir and modify it to
the desired
path.
