My laptop is running Win XP Home. When I'm at home I need
to connect to my cable modem which needs to automatically
detect IP address. When I'm at work I like to connect to
another computer running windows 95. Both computers have
only 1 nic card. Is there an easier way to switch my
settings when I get home or to work then by always
changing my tcp/ip settings? Does anyone know of a good
site that may help?

If all you need to do is switch to a static IP address at work, click
the Alternate Configuration tab in the TCP/IP properties for the
network connection and enter the static settings there.

Otherwise, try one of these programs. They let you store multiple
network configurations and switch between them easily:

NetSwitcher

MultiNetwork Manager

If work uses a domain, consult with your network administrator before
making any changes to the network settings.
