Changing computer and domain name

Is there a way to wipe a computer name and network
settings from a computer without reformatting? I have a
win2k workstation that is not allowing me to change the
computer name or switch from a workgroup to a domain. I
get a DNS lookup error. All of my other workstations work
great. I am using win2k and win2k server.
 
On the desktop, log on as a local admin, not a domain admin. Make the
changes. It will ask you for a valid domain username & password with the
proper permissions. If your Active Directory is setup & working properly,
the changes will be automatic & you won't have to update anything on the
server.
