I understand that you can change only a certain number of components on your
system and then you have to re-register the operating system with microsoft.
What happens does the system refuse to boot or does it boot and tell you to
re-register the operating system.
I've already updated 3 items in my computer and would like to update two of
them again plus add more memory, but I definatly do not want to have my
machine refuse to boot and have to reload XP, then re-register.
Has anyone had experience with this.

You do NOT have to reload XP. You just have to Reactivate it, by calling a
phone number that XP will give you when you bootup with the new components
in.
