I have managed to change the font in the equation editor
but not the color. Is there any way I can do this? I
need to be able to print in different colors when using
matrix templates.
Peter, there is no way to do this with Equation Editor, unless
you manually edit the equation in a "paint" program
(PaintShopPro, for example). This is one feature that IS
available in MathType though. MathType is the professional
version of Equation Editor, and both are created by Design
Science. If you want to try it before you buy it, MathType will
work in a full-featured "test drive" mode for 30 days for free.
If you continue to use it beyond 30 days without paying for it,
many features will be disabled, and color is one of these
features. If you're interested in the free download, follow the
link in my signature.
There is a way to color your Equation Editor equation if you're
using it in PowerPoint, but I assume this isn't your intent,
since you posted to a Word newsgroup. Be aware though, that if
you color an Equation Editor equation in PPT and paste it into
Word, the color information is lost. This isn't true, of course,
for MathType equations. For more information about coloring
equations in PowerPoint, see our tutorial at
