Hi. I have a simple vector image in Illustrator that I would like to bring
into PPT and be able to edit the colors using the PPT palette. My image is a
puzzle piece, and right now when I try to color it, it colors the whole
block, not inside the lines. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We develop a lot of vector images in Illustrator for use in PPT and we found
the best way to do this is to note the RGB values of the PPT colors in your
Theme or Template, then in Illustrator set your color space to RGB and build
a swatch library using the RGB values.

Any illustration you develop should use the "PPT" swatch library then save
out your file in your favorite format (we use jpg or png).

This may be the "hard" way to do this but this process has been in place for
probably close to 10yrs and it is the most reliable for us.

That said, we have a limited number of Themes that we do illustrations for
so it is easier for us to control it!

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your response. I actually just figured out a way to do it where
you can change the colors in PPT: you copy the file from Illustrator and
paste it into PPT as an enhanced meta file, then ungroup it twice. You can
remove the white background and change the outline/inside colors as much as
you want with the PPT palette! Saves a lot of time too.

Excellent!

We generally use our figures and illustrations for multiple uses so we need
to originate them in Illustrator.

Glad you found a different way to get the job done!

Christine
