I want to add a second hard drive to my computer and want to call it drive
D:\ but my CD drive has been allocated D.

In the old days of Win ME et al, you could go into device manager, click on
the CD drive and change the letter, you don't seem able to do that in XP Pro
and I would actually like to move the CD Drive further along and make it G

I can see that Disk Management tools enable you to change HDD drive letters,
but not CD???

Ron

Yes, you can use Disk Management to re-assign CD-Rom drive letters.

Right click on "My Computer" > Manage > Disk Managment. You should see
CD_ROM (D:) on the bottom of the screen. Right click > Change Drive letters
and paths... > Change... > You should now have the option to change the drive
letter to G:

Thanks for that

Ron
