Hi. New computer with Vista Home Premium. I have 4 user accounts set up. 3
administrators, and 1 standard. When any of the 3 administrator accounts
installs an application, the desktop icon shows up on all user desktops.
When 1 user deletes the shortcut, it gets deleted from all accounts. This
never happened with XP, so I'm assuming there must be a configuration fix
somewhere?

I did find one thread that indicated there is no fix for this problem, and
another that indicated this is a function of the install script from the
application. Can this be so? Please help! I have no desire to see the
Myspace IM application start up everytime I log into my account. TIA. DAn

Any action that happens to all users is usually due to an
installer/program/user taking action on the "All Users" profile - putting a
shortcut on the All Users\Desktop, or putting a program in All
Users\Programs\Startup, or deleting a file or folder or shortcut in the All
Users hierarchy. This behaviour goes back beyond Windows 2000 and is not
new.
