Hello,

Two questions here. First, can you change that standard
blue background color when entering titles and credits and
two, is there a way to position your titles other than
just slapping them dead center on the video?

Thanks,

Eric

Eric,

Yes, you can choose any color you want.... in the titling window select the
little color square at the left, under the font name list.

Yes, but you don't have a lot of control. You can use left or right
justification for horizontal positioning, different font sizes, be creative
with symbols to move text around a bit.... but the text positioning features
are limited.

As many times as I have messed with titles, I CAN'T
believe I missed that little square. Thanks!

As for the other question - thanks, found those things,
guess it is just a bit limited in that sense.

Thank you Jean.

When making a title, under 2. Edit Movie, click Make
titles or credits. From here choose the title you wish to
use. Under More options: click Change the text font and
color Under Color: It shows an A with a small
horixzontal block under it - this is for the color of the
font. To the right, there is a blue square. Click the
one you want. It will open up a window displaying many
different colors. Choose the color they show, or you may
click 'Define Custom Colors>>' on the bottom and you may
make your own color. Place your cursor on the rainbow of
colors and click. Then move the arrow on the right to
where you want it. On the bottom, click 'Add to Custom
Colors' The newly-created color will appear in a box on
the left. Click the new color (you are now selecting a
new background color) and then click 'OK' This should do
it for you!
To display your font in a different area of your title,
look under the 'Position:' area and choose whether you
want it to the left, right, or centered. Another area to
designate where you want your title would be in the 'Enter
Text or Title' area. You'll see a rectangular box that
has a line in the middle. You can type in the top portion
and/or you can type in the bottom portion. Play around
with it till you get the look that you want. Also, when
you are in the timeline, if you just 'double click' the
title box, it will immediately open up your title menu!
Good luck!

Don't forget, you can only select and change a background
colour if you select an option of before or after the
selected clip, NOT ON the selected clip. that got me for a
while.
