How do I change the color of a column on a form in datasheet view? The
background color porperty only seems to apply in form view.

Kenny,
Datasheet view is a very limited tool in regards to "appearance" properties.
For A2000 and up, you could use conditional formatting to force a column's BG color,
but that is a bit of overkill, and could slow down your app in the case of large tables.
Conditional formatting, although very useful, does add to the "load" on the displaying of
data... similar to a DLookUp field.

Best solution is to create a continuous subform that "looks" just like a datasheet
view, but with whatever BG colors you want.

Al,
Thanks for the reply. I'm trying the continuous form method. It will work,
but it is a lot more work to design the form. I thought I could get the job
done with easily.
Thanks again.

Well, give the conditional formatting a try... see how it works for you. It may do the
job just fine. But if your recordsets/tables are large, you may see a performance
decrease.

Personally, I never use datasheet view, particularly those forms that interface with the
users.
For example, my text controls are light yellow, numeric and currency light green, and
dates light blue, so conditionaly formatting all those columns for the sake of color,
would not be productive.

Kenny,
Also, just to make sure, search the Google Access newsgroups on "datasheet view"
"color". But I think you'll find that the conditional format or continuous subform
solution is the general consensus.
