I made the mistake of running Microsoft OneCare and that program changed my
designated settings. Instead of saving temporary files in "Temp", it is now
saving in Documents and Settings\My Name\Local
Settings\TemporaryInternetFiles\Content, etc. I've tried every way I can
think of to change it back the way it was. It has to do with my user default,
I'm sure, but if anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. Microsft email help
has been anything but helpful. Thanks in advance.

Right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties", select the "Advanced"
tab, click on "Environment Variable", set the path to the Temp directory in
the to box by highlighting it and use the edit button, you may also want to
reset the temp directory in the bottom box as well.

Greenie, I'm sure what you have said will work, but how should I edit it?
What should I name it? Is it like c:\something? Please take me a little
farther.

Assuming your temp directory is c:\temp, then follow my instructions, in
the top box highlight the Variable TEMP and click the Edit button, in the
space "Variable value" type in c:\temp (if that is the path to your temp
directory, if not, then type in the path to the directory that you want to
use as your temp directory) then click OK. Do the same for the TMP variable.
In the bottom box scroll down to the TEMP and TMP section and do the same
(the entry here will probably be c:\windows\temp).
