Changes made to Outlook today settings revert to default, Why?

I am using Outlook 2002 (10.6515.6626) SP3. I wish to change the Style for
Outlook Today, between Summer and Winter as appropriate. When I do, and click
on Save Changes the style converts to what I have selected. However, when I
close Outlook the Style reverts to the default. I believe that the chosen
style should display in a preview window when I select it, all I get is a red
cross in a small box, could this be part of or even the problem.
 
See if this fixes the red x's - right click on the outlook today folder or
icon and choose properties. On the outlook today tab, click reset.
