Any one familiar with a small fast application which could display
changes in registry made before and after installation of a program?

Speed depends largely on the number of registry changes.

InCtrl5 or RegShot
InCtrl5 download: http://www.xpefiles.com/download.php?id=126
You can save the change log as a txt file and that can be used as
input for UndoReg, which undoes all registry changes:

RegShot can be downloaded from the same site.

'TotalUninstall' provides this info as well as file changes.

Sorry. Haven't tried UndoReg. After using the supplied uninstall feature
if any I use RegShot's output as a guide to remove any leftover registry
entries.

I have tried the version of RegShot available at
http://www.paraglidernc.com/6901.html
that outputs a reg file(NT4 format) of registry changes. I've only used
it as a registry monitor though, and not to redo registry changes.
