I am studying a book about .NET 2.0, actually the self paced course for exam
70-528. Chapter 12 is about ASP.NET mobile web applications. I am wondering
if much has changed between .NET 2.0 and 3.5 since these mobile devices
develop quite rapidly. Could the chapter already be totally outdated for
..NET 3.5?

there are no changes for 3.5 and it not clear there is a real future for
this toolkit.

http://www.asp.net/mobile/road-map/

as the future phones seems to webkit based (iphone, android, symbian,
and blackberry), or windows mobile with opera or ie mobile and one would
assume that windows mobile 7 would have a competitive browser.

this means the main issue with design of moble apps for future phones is
the difference in screen sizes, not browser capabilities. (there is
still a battle for flash or silverlight support).

You mean chances are there that it will be on the list of abandoned
technologies, like J#, MFC et cetera, and for my knowledge and carreer it's
not that important to know how mobile ASP.NET 2.0 works? Since I kind off
was expecting that.

(Nevertheless for getting the certification, it probably still would be
important.)
