Changed password for hotmail live or other id's

Hey Just changed my paswords for my acounts hotmail.com and live.com live.ca
The problem is wlm don't log in with the new passwords I get the

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (account name) account.
The sign-in name you entered doesn't exist, or your password is incorrect.

Server Error: 0x80048821
Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8004882

This is the error I get when I inport my old accont settings with the old
password and tpye in my new password it don't login?

I have removed all four of the accounts out of wlm removing it from vista
network user accounts area I removed wlm from vista. I went in to the file
folders under user in explorer i have show file check marked but not system
files?
I done a reg clean and avg vires scan. I tryed loging in with avg disables
in msconfig.
I have vista ultimate with sp1
Wlm verson 2008 build 12.0.1606

You can not change your Hotmail Password.
It is tied to that Hotmail Account name.

Does it work if you go to the web at http://hotmail.com or http://live.com?

Well you can change your password for your e mail account in the web base
hotmail live in the account setting. Not in vista wlm program !!!!! what it
was called windows live desktop beta !!

I see you are using the web interface to Microsoft newsgroups. I don't have a
web (http) interface link, but try pasting this link into your browser's address bar:

It should bring up your default news reader.

A few versions ago, Windows Live Mail Desktop was renamed
Windows Live Mail, even though this causes problems with creating
a short abbreviation for it and for Windows Live Messenger.

can log in to messenger or on the web no problems at all just can not do it
in wlmd ?
I have found out that wlmd or in vista called wlm does not take a changed
password with the same symbol in the new password. Maybe this should be
fixed. Some one should be looking in to this problem? With more of my time on
this I changed my passwords for the three accounts with no symbols at all and
just letters and numbers works just find.
Now I have changed all my new passwords from strong to medium. So if some
one has a problem like this maybe this can be a trouble shooting step.
Please pass this information on to your boss or higher up if you can I don't
know why it would do this? The Id log in is used as messenger and its
outdated I guess? Could be the fact I used the @ symbol in my old password
for two of my accounts and will not log me in? anyway have changed the
password then about two months later change them back maybe the system will
clear it up???? Maybe should have a help file or something in the help part
of the program so everyone knows it has to be 100% different. nothing the
same as the old password. I have not tried other symbols as a new password.

Hope they do a update for wlm darn wish I found this out when I was beta
testing it ? It's the same in xp too. I tryed both vista sp1 and xp sp3.

I've solved this problem by reducing the length of my password. With a
length of 20 chars, login failed. With a length of 16 chars, login succeeded.

The password length is dictated by the mail server owner.

Yes, sure. But it's a hotmail account, where wlm fails to login if the
password exceeds a certain length. And I would expect that wlm as a microsoft
product is at least designed to work with another microsoft product (here
hotmail).

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048823

What I have tryed.
I have removed all four of the accounts out of wlm removing it from vista
network user accounts area I removed wlm from vista. I went in to the file
folders under user in explorer i have show file check marked but not system
files?
I done a reg clean and avg vires scan. I tryed loging in with avg disables
in msconfig.
I have vista ultimate with sp1
Wlm verson 2008 build 12.0.1606

Yes, sure. But it's a hotmail account, where wlm fails to login if the
password exceeds a certain length. And I would expect that wlm as a microsoft
product is at least designed to work with another microsoft product (here
hotmail).

The password length is dictated by the mail server owner.

I've solved this problem by reducing the length of my password. With a
length of 20 chars, login failed. With a length of 16 chars, login succeeded.

can log in to messenger or on the web no problems at all just can not do it
in wlmd ?
I have found out that wlmd or in vista called wlm does not take a changed
password with the same symbol in the new password. Maybe this should be
fixed. Some one should be looking in to this problem? With more of my time on
this I changed my passwords for the three accounts with no symbols at all and
just letters and numbers works just find.
Now I have changed all my new passwords from strong to medium. So if some
one has a problem like this maybe this can be a trouble shooting step.
Please pass this information on to your boss or higher up if you can I don't
know why it would do this? The Id log in is used as messenger and its
outdated I guess? Could be the fact I used the @ symbol in my old password
for two of my accounts and will not log me in? anyway have changed the
password then about two months later change them back maybe the system will
clear it up???? Maybe should have a help file or something in the help part
of the program so everyone knows it has to be 100% different. nothing the
same as the old password. I have not tried other symbols as a new password.

testing it ? It's the same in xp too. I tryed both vista sp1 and xp sp3.

its so frustrating, i changed my wlm passwords and linked another account
with it and even that doesnt accept my new password...tried loads and loads
of times to logonto both accounts...its so odd tho, i can login fine on msn
messenger and onto the webmail via the browser.....

they obviously have aproblem somewhere.....i will just have a weak pssword
and see wat happns..so glad i found this post...
