I got a new motherboard a couple days ago, and now it is asking me to
re-validate Windows Vista...but it is telling me I need ANOTHER key. How do I
get around this?

I had to do the same thing. IIRC, when I told it to activate online, it
failed and gave me an option to do so over the phone. I followed the
instructions, and gave the person who answered the information I had in front
of me (a bunch of numbers) and they gave me a new license code to put in.

I believe that's the only way to do it, unless you actually purchase a new
copy of Vista. It was fairly painless.

The message probably states that the product key you entered is already in
use, which is correct, because it was already activated by you. The first
alternate it should give you is to use the telephone to activate.

I bought my pc in Apr..... it crashed in sept. had to get a new motherboard..
Have had the pc working for 2 weeks and when I logged on this am I got the
message "The windows vista home basic product key you typed is invalid for
activation"
*Access your computer w/reduced functionally
*type a different key
*contact emachines to help resolve this problem

I need to know what I can do...I have spent way too much money on this
already and have been sick over all the problems. I only use my computer for
email and research!?!?
Please help!
