I switched hard drives from two working machines both
running win 2000 but on seperate networks. Now the hard
drive from the machine from home will not boot and when I
put the original hard drive back in as windows boots it
now asks me for a log on password that I never set.
Help all of my work is on this thing!!!

is it windows 2000 server?

If so, there is a utility you can use to reset the admin password. I do have
a copy here, I believe, andif you need it, let me know

I believe I am running Win 2000 as a server on my main
machine but it is not the main machine I am installing.

It is not the Admin machine but it is the log on to
windows screen while it is trying to find the network.
From the admin machine I can not see this computer. It
probably must complete the log on before this is possible?
Thanks, Ed

No, it does not have to be logged onto before you can see the computer. The
computer actually boots up, and is ready to receive a connection. If you log
onto it locally, it is just making a connection to the computer itself.
